Real Housewives of Miami?

YES YES YES! Bravo Network will be premiering RHMIA on February 22nd 10 pm Eastern time.  Based on the history of the Real Housewives series I'm sure we can only expect more fiery personalities and drama galore!  When news of DC Housewives series came about I was pretty skeptical.  I thought for sure it would be lame. I was wrong.  I was as addicted to watching that series as I am with the New Jersey series (NJ being my favorite).

Cast includes Larsa Pippen (married to Scottie Pippen), Alexia Echevarria, Marysol Patton, Lea Black, Cristy Rice, and Adriana DeMoura-Sidi.  Welcome to Bravo series and I cannot wait to see what this series has in store! Til next time.

Texas Collection by OPI

Can I just tell you how BEYOND EXCITED I am about this collection?  I'm probably going to buy every single color just because it is themed after my state.  Yes, I am a very proud Texan.  I'm not only excited because it's Texas themed but the colors are just gorgeous!  From a brown nude to bright pinks and an orange color.  You have to check out this collection because it is out TODAY! Heading to my local ULTA tomorrow to pick up the colors. It is a fabulous week for beauty because MAC'S Wonder Woman collection will be out in stores on Thursday. Possibly a haul post coming? Til next time!

Product Review: got split ends?

I know I've been neglecting my blog but I have a really good reason! I was getting myself ready to take my real estate licensing exam and all that prep paid off because I passed...YAYAYAYAY!!!

Anyway, on to the REAL reason why I'm writing this blog post.  I picked up Neutrogena's Triple Moisture Split End Mender a few weeks ago at ULTA while out shopping with my mom.  The short description on the bottle says "treats dry split ends and protects from future damage" and it is for dry, over-processed, or color treated hair.  While I don't have color treated hair, I do put alot of heat to my hair either using a flat iron, rollers, or a curling iron (yes, I like to use hot rollers still!).  The bottle is a 3.0 fluid ounces and I believe it cost around $5-6.  You can use it on dry or damp hair.  But keep in mind this product is meant for the ends of your hair!  And the product is pretty liquid-y.  If that's a word.

Now my experience with this product has been completely positive.  It has a pleasant smell and I have noticed a difference in the strength of my hair.  My ends feel alot smoother and I feel better about styling with heat since it protects from future heat damage (only time will tell for that :)).  I did get about 2 inches cut off my hair recently but my hair still needed some TLC.  I've used it with my hair wet and dry.  One pet peeve of mine is using a product in dry hair and it leaving a yucky feeling residue and I'm happy to report this product doesn't do that!  Yaaay!  Same goes with using it with wet hair. No residue.  (I have an awful habit of playing with my hair so I'm well versed in this.)  Then you go about styling your hair as normal.

Overall, I definitely would recommend this product to anyone who needs to give their hair a little TLC without having to spend alot.  Plus, it's nice since it is still winter time and just like your skin, your hair needs to stay moisturized. Everybody wants pretty hair, right? :)

Whatever Makes You Happy!

I know this is a beauty related blog but I figured I would make this my first rambly blog.  I have alot of other interests/other things to talk about :)

So about six months ago I made a huge decision for myself.  I decided to withdraw from my university.  After 3 years, it finally hit me that I just wasn't 100% in it.  I did ok in my classes, met alot of great people, was involved in the greatest organization, but it just wasn't for me.  This was a hard decision because I didn't want to feel like I was letting my family or anybody else down.  My family always had this vision of me holding my degree.  Naturally, I didn't want to let them down or feel like I had let them down.  I finally worked up the courage before the Fall 2010 semester to tell them my decision and they weren't ecstatic yet they weren't upset either.

So since I wasn't in school I didn't want to just sit around not doing anything.  I decided to look into real estate classes, something that's always peaked my interest.  I heard about Champions School of Real Estate and I just knew that I had to do it.  I took all my required classes in about a month.  I am now getting ready to take my state license exam and I am so excited, nervous, and anxious!  I have an exam prep class this weekend to help ease the anxiousness.  I am so excited that I decided to get into this industry because it's something new everyday and it's all about networking and maintaining good relationships with your clients!  And my family is fully supportive of me :)

Anyways, the whole point of this blog is to do something that truly makes you happy and not what people expect of you.  Kinda cheesy but it's so true!  Til next time!

Shoes make everything better

The title of this post says it all. Just kidding. But really, I love shoes! Which is the reason I'm a member of this "online shoe society" called ShoeDazzle. I'm sure you've heard of it. It is the company that Kim Kardashian helped found. The whole concept is when you sign up you take a style quiz so the stylists get a sense of your style. Then on the first of every month you are sent a selection of shoes to drool over. You can either purchase a pair for $39.95 each or "skip" the month.
Now, I've been a member for a little over a year and finally made my first purchase! I must say I am extremely impressed! I placed my order on a Thursday and received my order on Wednesday, I would say that's the standard for shipping. The style of the shoe I decided on is called Ciji in the color burgundy. The shoes come across more brown in the pictures, but they're burgundy. It's a 4" wedge with a 1.5" platform. I think I'll call these my Lady Gaga shoes, haha. I would say this style is true to size and I am soo in love with them! I haven't worn them out and about yet so I can't really say if they're comfortable or not, but just walking around in them they don't hurt my feet.
I can't wait to wear these! Til next time!

These are a few of my favorite things (beauty)

Hello again!

I figured I would start my blog with a post of some of my must-haves in my beauty stash.  My camera is acting funny so once it decides to behave I will try my best to include pictures. If not, just bear with me.

First up, MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer.  It is so creamy-easy to blend with your finger.  You could use it with a brush but I use my finger with this product.  This concealer works with my skin all year round, no added oiliness or shine, which I usually have a problem with when trying new makeup.

On top of that concealer, I use MAC Studio Fix Powder.  This powder+foundation is just remarkable! Again, I use it all year round and never have a problem with it.  I've used this concealer and powder combination for about 7 months...and I'm probably not going to change it anytime soon!

For my lips I just can't go wrong with Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm.  I started using Burt's Bees my junior year in high school, sooo not to make me feel old or anything, 6 years ago. (OUCH.) This stuff is just crack for my lips.  Keeps them extremely soft, moisturized, and I love the little cooling sensation it leaves. (My weird thing is I like to chew a piece of gum first and then put the lip balm on.  It's very refreshing...)  I could use JUST this product for the rest of my life and be a happy camper.

Now, mascara is a necessity in my opinion.  If mascara were the only makeup left on earth I would be ok with that.  I started using Maybelline's The Falsies mascara about a month ago.  I was HIGHLY skeptical at first.  After the first coat I was in love.  One of my top mascaras for sure!  It adds great length and if you wiggle the wand at the base of your lashes you can build great volume too.

Oh that water line that we all love to line to add instant sexiness to any look.  I love to line mine with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Zero.  It's a true black and creamy pencil that stays!  The eyeliner gods have answered our prayers!  Ok, lame, but true :)

I hope y'all enjoyed just a few of my favorite products! I wear them just about everyday so I decided to share my love for them with you.  What are your top favorites?  Til next time!

(I have a feeling blogging is going to become my new obsession....:) )
